Last week, the Seattle Seahawks reached an agreement to make Russell Wilson the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL. In an effort to show his appreciation for the franchise, the Pro Bowler is sharing his wealth among his teammates.
Wilson signed four-year deal that will pay a total of $140 million. This contract surpassed Aaron Rodgers for the top salary in the league.
Although Wilson could have kept all of his earnings to himself, he decided he'll help out his offensive linemen. After all, they do protect his blindside on a weekly basis in order to keep him healthy.
Instead of performing a small gesture, Wilson went out of his way to give each member $12,000 in Amazon stock.
He attached a heartfelt letter to his offensive linemen to express his gratitude for their toughness every Sunday.
"You have invested in my life ... this is my investment into yours," Wilson said in his letter.
Wilson is coming off an incredible season with the Seahawks. The dual-threat quarterback had 3,448 passing yards, 35 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
He'll try to keep his successful career rolling this year as his new contract does come with elevated expectations.
If this recent gesture is any indication on how he'll handle this lucrative deal, then Seattle will be in safe hands for years to come.
