The biggest question for the New Orleans Saints this weekend is whether or not Drew Brees will return from his thumb injury. He's been inactive for the past five games, but the team hasn't really missed a beat.
Teddy Bridgewater has filled in admirably for Brees, leading the Saints to five-straight victories. During his time as the starter, the former first-round pick has thrown for 1,370 yards and nine touchdowns.
Even though the Saints could rest Brees until after the bye week, the future Hall of Famer has stated that his plan is to play this weekend.
Brees might not be the only playmaker returning for New Orleans this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. It turns out that Alvin Kamara is also recovering well from his injuries.
According to ESPN reporter Mike Triplett, the Saints had Brees and Kamara at practice on Friday.
Sean Payton hasn't announced if Brees will start this weekend.
The Saints could actually wait until Sunday to announce who will be their starting quarterback. Even if Bridgewater is under center for one more game, the NFC powerhouse should be favorites heading into this weekend's game. New Orleans will release official game statuses for Brees and Kamara very soon. [
Saints QB Drew Brees and RB Alvin Kamara both participated during the early portion of practice open to the media Friday. But no announcement yet from Sean Payton afterward on who will start at QB Sunday. Said both guys got good work this week.
