The Cleveland Browns haven't made the playoffs in nearly two decades, but there is family some optimism surrounding the downtrodden franchise. Baker Mayfield and an intriguing defense will do that for you.

If you're wondering why the Browns have been so hapless for such a long time, consider stories like the one New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan shared on The Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday.

Back in 2011, Jordan was a first-round pick of New Orleans. However, later on in the draft, the Browns called him up trying to pick him.

It turns out it was an honest mistake. The Browns meant to get in touch with tight end Jordan Cameron, who they wound up taking in the fourth round.

Cameron Jordan fortunately had a good sense of humor about the whole thing.

Yeah, if you're an NFL team, you can't make that error. However, that was almost eight years ago.

The Browns appear to be in much better shape right now and moving ahead.
