Saquon Barkley had one of the best rookie seasons the NFL has seen this decade, as the New York Giants' tailback lived up to the hype of his No. 2 overall draft selection.
The former Penn State star running back rushed for more than 1,300 yards and 11 touchdowns in his first season in the NFL.
Barkley is now enjoying some much-needed time off before he starts getting ready for year No. 2.
This time off includes some well-deserved time with his family.
This weekend, Barkley helped his father celebrate his 50th birthday.
The star NFL running back put his father, Alibay Barkley, on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
The magazine tweeted out a photo of Saquon Barkley's cover next to his father's. It's pretty great.
"First, Saquon found himself on an SI cover in April. Now he put his dad on one to celebrate his 50th birthday," SI tweeted.
That's pretty awesome.
Barkley's rookie season isn't completely over yet, either. The New York Giants' star running back will be participating in the Pro Bowl. Barkley, though, is less concerned with the personal accolades and more worried about team success.
“It’s an honor to be up there,” Barkley told ESPN. “But at the end of the day, that doesn’t really matter. It only matters how many wins you get, and we’ve got to figure out how to continue to get those wins.”
