Shawne Merriman Thinks The Texans Will Sign Colin Kaepernick

Will the quarterback get signed this season?

Colin Kaepernick opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers before the season kicked off, and he's been off an NFL roster ever since.

Many around the NFL believe owners colluded against Kap to keep him out of the NFL after he started protesting during the national anthem.

Kaepernick opened a collusion lawsuit against the NFL, but one former player believes he still could end up on a roster this season.

According to TMZ, former linebacker Shawne Merriman said he thinks the Texans will sign Kap.

"I know he's about that life. He'll do it," Merriman toldTMZ Sports. "If he's still the same person ... 85-90 percent Colin will be in Houston."

Houston lost star quarterback Deshaun Watson to a season-ending knee injury during practice last week, and backup Tom Savage struggled during the Texans loss to the Colts.

Kaepernick runs the read option well and Houston seems to be the best possible fit for the free agent.

Will he get signed by a team this year?
