'Smoking That Rex Ryan Pack' - Texans Players Rip ESPN Analyst After Playoff Win

ESPN analyst Rex Ryan made a name for himself with bold, brash predictions that have blown up in his face fairly often. For one NFL team he projected to lose in Wild Card Weekend, he was squarely in their sights after the game.

Prior to today's playoff game between the Houston Texans and the visiting Los Angeles Chargers, the former Jets and Bills head coach emphatically picked the Chargers to win. But he may have gone a bit overboard by comparing playing the Texans to having a bye in first round of the playoffs.

"Chargers, basically... I never realized they get a bye on Saturday. Oh wait, they gotta play [the Texans]. What's the difference?" Ryan declared.

To paraphrase the words of Michael Jordan, the Texans "took that personally."

Not only did the Texans beat the Chargers, the defense utterly humiliated them, picking off Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert four times after he hadn't thrown more than three all year in a 32-12 blowout win.

Naturally, the Texans celebrated in the locker room after the game. Taking to Instagram Live, Texans running back Joe Mixon had a special message for Ryan. Smoking on a cigar and surrounded by his teammates, Mixon declared that they were "smoking on that Rex Ryan bye week pack" this weekend.

"We're smoking on that Rex Ryan bye week pack," Mixon said as his followers on Instagram applauded.

Mixon's teammates got in on the fun too and he wasn't the only one.

Even Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans couldn't help but tear into Ryan, joking about the "bye week" when giving his locker room speech.

"Hey, outstanding job by everybody. How was that bye week?" Ryans joked.

Rex Ryan is trying to get back into the head coaching ranks, boasting that he believes he could be the next head coach of the New York Jets, who he previously coached from 2009 to 2014 and led to two AFC Championship Games.

Suffice it to say, Ryan is going to have all kinds of enemies in Houston, Texas next year if he gets the job.

Fortunately for him, the Texans aren't on the Jets' schedule next year.
