George Pickens' frustration with his role in the Steelers' offense has been a storyline for the team this season, even as they continue to win games and march toward a playoff appearance.

Pickens removed all Steelers references from his Instagram account, a move that prompted his teammates and head coach to address the issue, and for offensive coordinator Matt Canada to detail his recent discussion with the young wide receiver.

“Me and George get along great. I think George loves football. He loves to play. He wants to win," Canada said during his Thursday press conference.

“We talked — me being on the sideline, I talked to George after every series. George was happy we were playing well, wanting to win."

Canada says he empathizes with Pickens' frustrations, as he simply sees a player wanting to do whatever he can to help his team win.

As a wide receiver, the biggest impact that Pickens can have is moving the ball downfield and getting the opportunity to make plays.

"He’s a super talent. He wants the ball. Everybody who plays football at a skill position wants the ball, and they want the ball more," Canada added.

"I don’t think you’d find anybody anywhere that doesn’t. We’re in a great spot with that. We’ll continue to go, continue to find ways to win.”

The drop in production for Pickens has helped other players on the Steelers offense, including Diontae Johnson, who ended his long touchdown drought in last week's win over the Titans.
