A former NFL cheerleader is among the women featured in the 2021 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, which hit newsstands this week.
Summer Wilson, a former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader turned swimsuit model, is featured in the 2021 edition of the iconic magazine.
“I am not a professional model, I work in corporate America so it was just a huge experience to me,” Wilson told WJZ. “It’s just next level, holy crap feeling, you know?”
Wilson shared some photos of her shoot on Instagram.
Wilson, who spent five years as a Ravens cheerleader, was a finalist through the SI Swim Search. She was able to develop a following on social media.
“So started to post online, posting on Instagram a lot so anyone that follows me is probably like, ‘This chick needs to chill,’” Wilson added. “But I knew that in order to get noticed by such an enormous band, for so many men and women who want to go for this dream, I had to make myself stand out.”
Wilson is one of several newcomers in this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine. She’s a graduate of East Carolina University.
“Summer is an advocate for self-help and self-empowerment, and hopes to be a role model to those looking to make their most lavish dreams reality. When she isn’t working, Summer spends her time working out and chasing around her Great Dane, Maddox,” SI Swim writes.
