A whistling fan has been going viral on social media during the New Orleans Saints-Los Angeles Rams NFC Championship Game. He has since been identified.

A fan in the stands at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome appears to have been blowing a whistle throughout the first half of the Saints-Rams game. Viewers on FOX have been incredibly annoyed by this.

"I would make it my personal mission to destroy the fan with the whistle in the stands if I were in his section," one fan tweeted.

It turns out that the fan is not using a whistle, though. He's just using his mouth... "Those asking about the whistles from the crowd on saints/rams game. The Saints have a super fan nicknamed “whistle man” .. no joke .. have met him many times, great guy. He wears a whistle costume to games. He has the loudest, most piercing natural whistle I have ever heard," Mike Tirico tweeted.

Here's the fan:

It's impressive that this fan can whistle at such a high level, but it doesn't make it any less annoying to listen to on TV.

Regardless, the Saints are currently leading the Rams, 13-3, at the end of the first half.

The game is on FOX.
