The New England Patriots are adding arguably the most-athletically gifted wide receiver in the NFL. New England traded for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon to sure up its ailing receiving corps.

With the trade official, New England released a wide receiver to make room for Gordon. So, who did the Patriots decide was expendable with the addition of Gordon?

Another former Browns wide receiver: Corey Coleman.

According to ESPN insider Field Yates, the Patriots are parting ways with the former first-round pick just a week after signing him. Here's the news from Yates.

Cue the Coleman-to-the-Browns jokes.

It's been a tough NFL career for the young wide receiver who also hails from Baylor. A first-round pick in 2016, Coleman was traded to the Buffalo Bills ahead of the 2018 season. Buffalo released Coleman after just a month with the team.

We'll have to wait and see if another team takes a shot on the former college star.
