The Patriots Are Reportedly "Close" To A Josh Gordon Trade
Josh Gordon's time with the Cleveland Browns is nearly at an end. Over the weekend, the Browns announced Gordon will no longer be a member of the team - whether through a trade or release within the next few hours.
A supreme talent, Gordon has several suitors interested in trading for him. Initial reports linked Gordon to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys.
However, NFL insider Ian Rapoport suggested a new landing spot for the former Baylor star. According to Rapoport, the Browns and New England Patriots are getting close to a deal for Josh Gordon.
Here's more from Rapoport.
It would be a huge addition for the Patriots, who are struggling at the wide receiver position with Julian Edelman out for two more games.
New England is coming off of a stagnant offensive performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in which star tight end Rob Gronkowski managed just two catches. Gordon's presence on the field would likely mean fewer double-teams for Gronk moving forward.
No trade is official.
Stay tuned.
