Any NFL looking to bolster its backfield will likely pursue Dalvin Cook this summer.

Released by the Minnesota Vikings earlier this month, the Pro Bowl running back remains on the marker after four straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons. The AFC East could present some potential landing spots.

Via Dov Kleiman, ESPN's Dianna Russini said the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins are among several teams "doing homework" on Cook.

On Wednesday's Get Up, Russini said Jets general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh will "explore" adding Cook to their backfield. They already have a star running back in Breece Hall, but he's recovering from an ACL tear that ended an inspiring rookie season early.

In response to Russini saying the Jets will do their homework on the four-time Pro Bowler, host and die-hard Jets fan Mike Greenberg completed his assignment by writing "Dalvin=Awesome" on a piece of paper.

While the Dolphins have multiple backfield options in Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr., and rookie Devin Achane, Cook could potentially take an explosive offense to another level. The hometown roots also make them an intriguing candidate, as Cook was born in Miami and attended Florida State.

The Jets and Dolphins were among the early betting frontrunners to sign Cook alongside another AFC East title hopeful in the Buffalo Bills.
