With Andrew Luck retiring, backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett is now the Colts' starter until further notice. While the news was certainly a shock to many of us, Brissett may have found out the big news before most of us.

Footage from last night's preseason game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears revealed a seemingly significant moment on the sidelines. Luck can be seen conversing with Brissett, with the latter looking perplexed at the subject matter.

Luck's lips were obscured, so it was hard to make out what he was telling Brissett. But during the conversation, the former Florida and NC State quarterback's eyes briefly go wide in surprise.

Considering the career-altering implications for Brissett, it wouldn't be unreasonable for him to act surprised.

Luck's retirement now gives Brissett a second chance to prove he can lead the Colts in 2019 and beyond.

He went only 4-11 as a starter for the Colts in 2017, showing some flashes of potential in the process.

But he now takes over a Colts lineup that is among the most stacked rosters in the NFL. The offensive line is among the best in football, the running game is serviceable, the receiving corps is healthy and the defense can keep the Colts in games.

Few players in the NFL were as affected by Luck's shocking retirement as Brissett.

Can he lead the Colts to the playoffs in 2019?
