What should have been a fun charity event turned ugly on Saturday afternoon after Green Bay Packers star Clay Matthews took a line drive to the face.

Matthews and Davante Adams split captain duties during the team's annual charity softball game at Fox Cities Stadium.

Matthews took the mound to pitch for his team, but it didn't end well. The star linebacker was hit in the face with a liner from Packers offensive lineman Lucas Patrick.

Here's the play.

Matthews immediately cupped his face with his glove and left the filed. The good news for Packers fans is that the injury doesn't seem to be serious. At least not according to Adams.

Green Bay fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief.
