For a Super Bowl that has underwhelmed audiences across America, the commercials have perhaps been the biggest letdown of all. However, it was the NFL that appears to have saved the event from being completely forgettable with their ad for the NFL Plays 100 campaign.
The Super Bowl commercial features NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell speaking at a celebration of NFL legends and current stars.
When Marshawn Lynch knocks over a cake with a football on top, all hell breaks loose as Mike Singeltary yells, "Fumble!"
Joe Montana grabs the ball and has to choose between throwing to Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin
From there it's non-stop action with greats like Barry Sanders, LaDanian Tomlinson, Deion Sanders, Franco Harris, Peyton Manning, and many others making their presence known.
Intermingled in the mad scramble are current stars like Tom Brady, Ndamukong Suh, Drew Brees, Todd Gurley, and even Baker Mayfield making an appearance.
The last player seen holding the ball however is newly-minted NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, who gets the ball from a little girl to end the commercial.
If the NFL does half as well with their production of next year's 100th season, we have plenty to look forward to in the 2019 season.
