Vikings vs. Lions preview:
After losing four straight games, the Vikings finally got back in the win column, defeating the Arizona Cardinals 30-24. It was a much needed victory for a team that started 5-0. The defense and special teams looked as good as ever, with Xavier Rhodes running back one of his interceptions for a touchdown and Cordarrelle Patterson returning a kickoff for another score. The offense, however, still has yet to perform to its potential.
The Lions are coming off a nice 26-19 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, and have won five of their last six. Matt Stafford wasn't spectacular, but he was precise and efficient when he needed to be, especially in the fourth quarter. If it's a one possession game, you can't count this team out. The offense is explosive, but the defense is suspect at times, especially the secondary.
Vikings vs. Lions prediction:
This will be a statement game for the Vikings in front of a national audience. The Vikings go up early and never look back, and the defense tortures Stafford all game long, forcing him into terrible throws, while gumming up the running lanes. After losing to the Lions a couple weeks ago in embarrassing fashion, a win on Thanksgiving will right the ship for the Vikings.
