The Los Angeles Rams left California today for their Super Bowl trip to Atlanta. Wade Phillips made the trip in style.

Phillips, the Rams' defensive coordinator, is known for his quirkiness as much as he is for his stellar resume as a coordinator. He certainly showed why today.

Boarding the plane this afternoon, Phillips wore his team-issued sweat suit along with a white cowboy hat.

If you were unaware, the white hat has a lot of meaning to Phillips. It was the trademark of his father Bum Phillips throughout his career as an NFL head coach.

Phillips will have his hands full in Super Bowl LIII as he tries to stop Tom Brady and the New England offense, which has been clicking in the playoffs. However, he was in this spot before three years ago, and he came through.

While the defensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos in 2015, Phillips' unit shut down Brady and company in the AFC Championship Game. Denver won 20-18 and beat the Carolina Panthers in the Super Bowl two weeks later.

One week from today, Brady and Phillips will do battle once again.
