Jayden Daniels Named 'Leading Candidate' To Be Commanders Pick at No. 2
Former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels may want to start looking at real estate in the nation's capital.
During an appearance on NBC Sports Boston, NFL insider Albert Breer reported that Daniels is the "leader in the clubhouse" to be the next quarterback of the Washington Commanders.
The Commanders currently own the No. 2 pick in this year's draft. They've been heavily linked to Daniels for the past few weeks now.
"The more I’ve started to ask around, the more it seems like Jayden Daniels is probably the leader in the clubhouse to be a Commander," Breer said. "It does match up with what Kliff Kingsbury’s looked for in his quarterbacks over the years. Obviously, Jayden Daniels had a great season last season at LSU. He's probably - I think arguably - the most ready to play of the three guys at the top of the draft."
Daniels was sensational for LSU this past season, throwing for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns. He was equally dynamic on the ground, rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 scores on 135 attempts.
With Kliff Kingsbury as Washington's offensive coordinator, there's reason to believe Daniels will have immediate success if he gets drafted by the Commanders. We saw Kingsbury's offense flourish at times in Arizona with Kyler Murray under center.
The 2024 NFL Draft will take place from April 25-27.
