Trades in the NFL are rare. And yet, Tuesday night brought with it one of the most exciting recent trades we've seen.

The 2017 NFL offseason (although it doesn't start until after this weekend's Super Bowl) is off to a roaring start. Kansas City and Washington brought forth a trade last night that rocked the NFL community.

The Redskins acquired Alex Smith from the Chiefs for corner Kendall Fuller and a third round pick. Immediately after the trade, it wasn't known if Fuller was included in the draft or not.

Initial reports stated the Redskins acquired Smith for a third round pick and a player to be named later. However, after the name leaked, Washington got crushed.

Fuller is one of the top young corners in the league. In his second season, Fuller was the highest-graded slot corner in the NFL.

Including Fuller in the trade was just the start. Then Smith's contract details leaked. Smith received a $94 million deal with $71 million guaranteed.

The former first overall pick is the fifth player in NFL history to receive at least $70 million guaranteed. Former Redskins GM Scot McCloughan tweeted about the trade.

Twitter was full of criticism for the Redskins after the trade. Smith now becomes the scapegoat in Washington after Andy Reid and the Chiefs fleeced the Redskins.
