Why The NFL Is Never Going To Get Rid Of The Pro Bowl

The Pro Bowl stinks. But it's not going away.

TV ratings for this year's Pro Bowl are out. They are good.

This year's Pro Bowl, a 20-13 win by the AFC, drew a 4.6 overnight rating on ESPN. It was watched by 7.4 million people.

Those numbers are down for the sixth straight year and the worst since the 2006 game.

So, yes, interest in the Pro Bowl does seem to be trending downward, but the game isn't going away.

It's still, by far, the best thing ESPN could have in that time slot.
