Olympic Gymnast Suni Lee Enjoys First Knicks Game, Poses with Star Anunoby

Senior writer

Olympic gymnast Suni Lee took a trip to Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night to watch the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic square off. The 2020 all-around gold medalist was sitting courtside for this NBA Cup game.

Lee, who currently has six Olympic medals on her résumé, made it abundantly clear that she enjoyed her time at MSG. In a brief interview, she said, “Oh my gosh, it was so cool. I had so much fun, this is my first time at the Knicks game and definitely want to remember, I’m currently getting my jersey signed in the back.”

We’re not sure if the entire Knicks team signed Lee’s jersey. That being said, there’s a good chance she got OG Anunoby’s signature.

Following the Knicks’ win over the Magic, Lee posed for a photo with Anunoby. It didn’t take long for that picture to go viral on social media.

Anunoby has been excellent for the Knicks this season, make no mistake about it. He’s averaging 17.4 points per game on 37.9 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

Though it doesn’t necessarily mean anything, Anunoby has now made headlines twice for an interaction with a celebrity sitting courtside at MSG. Earlier this season, he nearly crashed into “Interstellar” actress Anne Hathaway

Of course, Lee has also been in the spotlight this year for various reasons. Last month, she was unveiled as a member of the 2025 rookie class for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.

Lee was photographed in Boca Raton. Her rookie photo shoot will be released in May.

“In case you were wondering…. yes, we’re still totally flipping out over @sunisalee’s SI Swimsuit debut,” SI Swimsuit wrote. “At just 21 years old, Suni has already achieved a career’s worth of accomplishments in the gym and beyond but she’s not done yet because she’s just added SI Swimsuit to the list!”

So will we see Lee back at MSG between now and the release of SI Swimsuit? We’re not sure, but it sounds like she’s down to see another Knicks game.
