The NBA season kicked off just a few weeks ago, but there are already rumors about a potential trade.

According to a report from Kevin O'Connor of the Ringer, the Orlando Magic are reportedly interested in a trade involving San Antonio Spurs star guard DeMar DeRozan.

DeRozan and the Spurs reportedly worked on a contract extension before the season. However, the two sides could not come to an agreement per Sam Amick of the Athletic.

The star guard can opt out of his deal following the 2019-20 season, becoming a free agent.

Before that happens, O'Connor suggested DeRozan could be traded.

"The Spurs could always deal him sooner rather than let him walk for nothing. Multiple league sources say the Magic are scouring the trade market for scoring help and have already expressed interest in trading for DeRozan."

DeRozan is on an expiring contract, so it would make sense for the Spurs to move on. Couple that with the fact San Antonio has several young guards vying for playing time and DeRozan's time with the Spurs could be close to coming to an end.

DeJounte Murray, Derrick White, Lonnie Walker IV and Bryn Forbes have all shown flashes at some point.

The four-time All-Star came to San Antonio in a trade that sent Kawhi Leonard to Toronto. However, after two years with the team, it looks like he could be on the move once again.
