Late Friday night ESPN dropped some massive college basketball news, shortly after Yahoo had done the very same that morning. Arizona head coach Sean Miller was reportedly wiretapped by the FBI while discussing payment of $100,000 for star player Deandre Ayton.
In the wake of that news, Arizona has lost a major recruit. Shareef O'Neal, the son of NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal, has decided his best course of action is to look elsewhere.
Shortly after O'Neal's announcement, Arizona and Sean Miller released a joint statement. Miller will not coach tonight's game, but maintains his innocence.
Meanwhile, Arizona fans received a sliver of good news in the announcement as Deandre Ayton will be eligible to play.
Ayton, a 7-foot-1 star from the Bahamas, is one of the best players in the country. He's averaging 19.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per contest.
We'll keep you updated on the latest involving Arizona.
