CBS Now Has Arizona No. 1 In Its Preseason Top 25

Arizona is now atop CBS Sports' Preseason Top 25.

There doesn't seem to be a consensus No. 1 team heading into next year's college basketball season. Some people prefer Kentucky. Others like Michigan State.

As for CBS, they prefer Arizona. The Wildcats are the new No. 1 team in CBS' Top 25 (and 1) after the news that Rawle Alkins is coming back to school and heralded recruit Emmanuel Akot is reclassifying.

Here's what CBS' Gary Parrish said:

The return of Allonzo Trier, Rawle Alkins and Dusan Ristic means Arizona has three double-digit scorers back to pair with a heralded recruiting class headlined by DeAndre Ayton and Emmanuel Akot. That means the Wildcats are both experienced and talented. And that's usually the combination that produces lots of wins and even championships.

Arizona will face stiff competition in the Pac-12 from Oregon, UCLA and USC, and there are several teams that can cut down the nets in San Antonio next April.

Still, if ever there was a year for the Wildcats to snap their Final Four drought, next year could be it.
