Rodriguez is denying the allegation.
Earlier tonight, Arizona dismissed head coach Rich Rodriguez amid an allegation of workplace misconduct by a former administrative assistant.
The Arizona athletic department released a statement confirming it investigated the complainant’s allegations and that “the investigation, which concluded on December 28, 2017, found that the original specific harassment allegations against Mr. Rodriguez could not be substantiated based on the evidence and witnesses available to it. However, Arizona Athletics did become aware of information, both before and during the investigation, which caused it to be concerned with the direction and climate of the football program.”
Rodriguez himself released a statement via Twitter, denying the allegations made by the woman, who threatened a $7.5 million lawsuit. Rodriguez also admitted to a separate extramarital affair with a woman not affiliated with Arizona, but vehemently denies any workplace misconduct.
