Attention, college football programs: do not play Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. Just decline the invite if it comes and the Broncos are the opponent.
You will play a crazy and entertaining game, but you will lose.
For the third time in program history, Boise State won the Fiesta Bowl, defeating Arizona, 38-30, Wednesday night in Phoenix.
The Wildcats had a chance to tie the game late in the fourth quarter, but on a third down play with eight seconds remaining, Arizona quarterback Anu Solomon took a sack. He should have thrown the ball away. Rich Rodriguez’s team had no timeouts left, so the clock expired before Arizona could get another play off.
With the win, Boise State finishes its 2014 season, 12-2. Arizona, meanwhile, drops to 10-4 with the loss.
