Selection: Los Angeles Rams select Cal quarterback Jared Goff

Analysis: Goff becomes the second straight quarterback to be taken as the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft - after former Florida State signal-caller Jameis Winston was taken No. 1 overall in 2015.

Goff, who played three years for the Golden Bears, threw for 4,719 yards, 43 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2015, leading the team to an 8-5 record. He threw for over 12,000 yards in his three seasons on campus.

Goff is the prototypical NFL quarterback, standing at 6-foot-4, weighing 215 pounds. Expect him to compete for the starting job almost immediately.

The Philadelphia Eagles, via a trade with the Cleveland Browns, are now on the clock.
