Cal Assistant Says He's Fighting School's Decision To Fire Him After Allegedly Sexually Harassing Reporter

Former Cal assistant men's basketball coach Yann Hufnagel released a statement this evening saying he's fighting the university's decision to fire him after he allegedly sexually harassed a reporter.

Hufnagel, 33, was fired by head coach Cuonzo Martin after a seventh-month investigation by the university found he attempted to persuade a reporter to have sex with him.

The former assistant coach says the report "is wrong" and that he's hired legal counsel to fight Cal's decision.

He posted his statement on Twitter, which includes contact information for his attorney.

Cal is a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament's South Region. The Golden Bears are set to take on Hawaii in the first round on Friday.
