A former football player committed suicide.
Drew Wahlroos, a former Colorado football player, died over the weekend after an apparent suicide.
The former Buffalo played 21 games in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and St. Louis Rams before being released ahead of the 2006 season.
Wahlroos reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest, according to Buffzone.com.
From the report:
Drew Wahlroos, a former University of Colorado linebacker who went on to play in the NFL, died over the weekend from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest — the second well-known Buff to kill himself in the last year.
A representative of the San Diego Medical Examiner's Office said Wahlroos died on Saturday at the age of 37, and that his death has been ruled a suicide.
The news comes less than a year after fellow former Colorado star Rashaan Salaam committed suicide last December.
Our thoughts are with the Wahlroos family at this time.
