Oregon State WR Hunter Jarmon Forgoing Senior Season To Play Minor League Baseball

Oregon State wide receiver Hunter Jarmon is making an interesting career choice.

Jarmon announced today that he is forgoing his redshirt senior season to sign a free agent contract with the MLB's San Diego Padres.

The Padres did not select Jarmon in this week's amateur draft, but apparently worked him out recently and liked what they saw.

Jarmon was a two-sport star in high school and intended on playing both baseball and football at OSU. He left the baseball program in the middle of his freshman season to focus on the gridiron.

Here is Jarmon's announcement:

In the last three seasons, Jarmon hauled in 41 passes for 555 yards and three touchdowns.

Harmon played outfield in high school and in his brief stint for the Beavers.
