Georgia LB Andrew Johnson Announces Commitment To Oregon

Oregon landed a big-time recruit from SEC country this afternoon: Georgia native Andrew Johnson.

247Sports ranks Johnson the No. 405 player in the class of 2017.

He is slotted in at No. 27 among outside linebackers and No. 44 in the Peach State.

In early July, he announced a top five of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Oregon.

The Ducks beat out those other big programs.

Johnson also holds offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Mizzou, Tennessee, among others.

As a national power, Oregon has always had to recruit nationally, and new head coach Willie Taggart is keeping that going, with a focus on the Southeast. Johnson joins three Ducks commits from Florida, and one from North Carolina in the 20-man class, which is ranked at the top of the Pac-12 and sixth nationally right now.
