JuCo DT, Former Mizzou Signee Malik Young Commits To Oregon

Malik Young was set to attend Mizzou back in February. Instead, he's heading to the Pac-12 to play for Willie Taggart at Oregon.

Young, a three-star player per 247Sports, played at Eastern Arizona College.

247 ranks him No. 55 among junior college players in the class of 2017. The Marietta, Georgia native is the No. 6 defensive tackle and No. 8 player from the Peach State in that class.

From 247Sports:

Young arrived in Eugene late Tuesday night and is now on campus Wednesday getting medically cleared as well as filling out the paperwork to begin practicing with the Oregon Duck football team as quickly as he can.

Earlier this week Young confirmed to DuckTerritory.com that Oregon was likely his destination after not getting cleared by Missouri this summer, but a decision hadn't been made at that time.

Young has at least one season of eligibility with the Ducks, but could appeal the NCAA for a second season.

During his initial recruitment over the winter, he took visits to Arizona State, Arkansas, and Florida, as well as Missouri. He also held offers from Alabama, Arizona, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, Syracuse, and Tennessee.

Last season, Young racked up 46 total tackles and 2.5 sacks.
