Oregon Basketball Star Dwayne Benjamin Done With Ducks Football After 1 Practice

After helping Oregon men's basketball to the Elite Eight this season, senior forward Dwayne Benjamin considered playing football for the Ducks this fall. After one spring practice, that is over. He revealed the decision in a response to a since-deleted tweet by Oregon reporter Aaron Fentress.

There were initial rumblings that Benjamin may not be a fan of the physicality and contact involved with football, which he denied.

">@AaronJFentress certain reasons I will let people know. It has nothing to do with contact I can tell you that

The basketball-to-football transition is often discussed for mid-sized forwards, but it is not nearly as easy as some may make it out to be. As much fun as a 6-foot-7 pass catcher on the Ducks would have been, we're sure the offense will be fine.
