Oregon Football: Transfer QB Vernon Adams Has Officially Been Admitted To UO

It probably took a bit longer than Oregon football fans wanted, but transfer quarterback Vernon Adams, a star at FCS power Eastern Washington, has officially been admitted by the school. The Oregonian's Andrew Greif broke the news, which is huge for the Ducks.

Adams is yet to officially enroll, but will have the opportunity to register for classes in about a month.

The former Eastern Washington Eagle hasn't quite landed: Adams has yet to enroll. According to UO, his next opportunity to register for classes is Aug. 5.

But that UO is giving him the green light to do so seems to clear up his academic status. The uncertainty stemmed from his mid-June comments, to The Oregonian/OregonLive, that he had to complete more work for a math class before he could graduate from Eastern Washington and make good on his February promise to play for the Ducks in 2015.

Adams will likely be the favorite to win the starting quarterback job once camp breaks. His main competition is expected to be redshirt junior Jeff Lockie.
