Oregon Quarterback Vernon Adams Thanks Fans For "Welcoming Him" After Win Over Eastern Washington

New Oregon quarterback Vernon Adams had about as interesting a season opener as you could imagine. The dynamic dual-threat quarterback played well, completing 19-of-25 passes for 246 yards and two scores and rushing for 94 yards, but he also took a nasty cheap shot late in the game. Oh, and it all went down against Eastern Washington, his alma mater where he became an FCS star, and just finished coursework a little over three weeks ago. Oregon has given Adams a warm welcome, and this afternoon, coming off of the 61-42 win, he thanks his new fans, along with an adorable picture of his young son in full Ducks garb.

The game was probably a little closer than Ducks fans would like, even if EWU is a very good FCS program, but Adams acquitted himself well in a very unqiue offense, very quickly, and put up big numbers against a team that knows everything about him. We can't wait to see what he does as he grows more comfortable with Oregon's scheme.
