Oregon vs. Michigan State – Game Time, TV Schedule, Line, Preview, Prediction

Is there a bigger non-conference matchup in the entire 2014 college football season? This upcoming Saturday, two teams ranked in the top ten - Oregon and Michigan State - will meet in Eugene with a great deal to play for. Both squads - for good reason - have national championship aspirations. There will also be some conference bragging rights on the line as well.

Oregon kicked off its season with an easy win over South Dakota State. The Spartans also were not tested - crushing Jacksonville State, 45-7. Things will not be quite the same when they meet this weekend.

Prediction: How often do you see the reigning Big Ten champion, still undefeated, as a two-touchdown underdog in a non-conference game? It's a strange situation for sure - but admittedly, having to go into Eugene and take on Marcus Mariota & Co. is no small task.

This game features teams with completely contrasting styles. Oregon, as we're all aware, wins with offense. The Ducks racked up 673 yards of total offense this past week and can hurt you both on the ground and through the air. Michigan State wins with defense - the Spartans held Jacksonville State to just 244 yards and forced three turnovers. Simply put, it is very hard to throw on MSU's secondary.

Ready for an upset prediction? We'll take Michigan State, on the road, to win. Defense > Offense. Either way, it should be a fantastic early-season game.
