Like many college football recruits, 2022 four-star athlete Jalil Tucker planned a big, special announcement for which college he would be attending. Unfortunately, his father accidentally spoiled the surprise.
Just before Tucker made the announcement, an interviewer spoke to his father about the impending decision. The father praised his son and then spoiled the moment by mentioning that he’d be going to Oregon.
“I’m happy for him. He’s a good kid… and I know he’s going to represent Oregon well,” Tucker’s father said.
Jalil Tucker’s father quickly realized his mistake, as did the entire family who were visibly stunned that he spoiled the announcement. Tucker was undaunted though, and pulled out an Oregon hat to make the announcement official.
OH NO 😬

The clip has gone viral with thousands of people sharing the video across the internet. Given how some of Tucker’s family members reacted in the video, it shouldn’t be surprising.
Jalil Tucker is the No. 144 overall prospect in the Class of 2022 according to 247Sports. He is the No. 6 athlete in the country and the No. 11 prospect from the state of California.
Tucker will have plenty of years to make his time at Oregon far more special than his announcement could have been. But at least now, everyone is going to remember his name – albeit for a much sillier reason.
Good luck at Oregon, Jalil.
