Running back Tyler Gaffney will be taking his talents to...

This isn't one of your typical, depressing injury stories. Stanford running back Tyler Gaffney will forgo his senior season and give up his final year of eligibility in order to pursue a career in professional baseball. Gaffney was drafted in the 24th round of the recent MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

While Gaffney was expected to be a big contributor on the gridiron for the Cardinal this fall, Stanford fans should not be worried about their rushing attack declining with his departure. Luckily, star senior running back Stepfan Taylor is returning to school for one final hurrah.
