The 2019 college football season is here - but not all fans are excited.

Not long before kickoff of the game between Stanford and Northwestern, Stanford Stadium remained mostly empty.

Now, asking college students to wake up for a 12:00 p.m. PT kickoff isn't exactly the best idea and Northwestern isn't the most exciting opponent in the world, but you'd think the stadium would be packed for the first game of the season.

It was not to be.

Here's a few photos from the crowd.

It's not a good look for the home fans and adds to the problems plaguing the Pac-12.

If you can't get fans to turn up for a significant non-conference contest, then they definitely won't show up for a bad conference game.

Neither Northwestern nor Stanford have found success on offense just yet. Just about midway through the first quarter, the game is tied at 0.

Stay tuned for the latest from the game.
