One day after releasing his top five schools, Las Vegas (Nev.) Trinity International Schools five-star point guard Daishen Nix has announced a verbal commitment.

Nix has committed to UCLA, according to multiple reports. 247Sports' Evan Daniels first reported the news.

Nix chose the Bruins over Kansas, Kentucky, Alabama and Maryland. He officially visited UCLA last weekend, and clearly came away impressed.

According to The Athletic's Kyle Tucker, Kentucky did not actually offer Nix because UCLA has been perceived as the clear favorite for some time.

The top-rated point guard in the 2020 class, Nix is also the No. 1 senior in the state of Nevada and the No. 14 overall recruit in the 2020 class. These ratings are courtesy of 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Nix's 247Sports profile compares him to former Villanova star Jalen Brunson and projects him as a potential second-round draft pick down the road.
