To say he’s cocky would be an understatement.
Lavar Ball is the father of three pretty great basketball players – Lonzo Ball, a star freshman at UCLA; LiAngelo Ball, a 2017 Bruins’ commit; LaMelo Ball, a top 2019 prospect who recently scored 92 points in a game.
Mr. Ball very much likes to talk about how great his sons are. Recently, this has meant calling out one of the best players in the NBA – Steph Curry.
Earlier in the week, the senior Ball said Lonzo would end up being a better player than the two-time MVP. Saturday, he took his comments a big step further, saying his son is already better than the Warriors’ star.
“I have the upmost confidence in what my boy is doing,” LaVar said on the Pac-12 Network. “I’m going to tell you right now, he’s better than Stephen Curry to me. Put Steph Curry on UCLA’s team right now and put my boy on Golden State and watch what happens.”
UCLA, led by Lonzo, beat USC by 32 points on Saturday.
Mr. Ball, unsurprisingly, has predicted that UCLA will win this year’s national championship.
