One of the preeminent college basketball programs is reportedly searching for a new head coach after firing their current head coach. According to multiple reports, UCLA fired Steve Alford late Sunday night and an announcement could come as early as Monday morning.

Although no official announcement has been made, the writing has been on the wall for Alford. The team's latest loss, to Liberty, was the final straw for the UCLA program.

Seth Davis of the Athletic broke the news.

The Bruins opened the season with a 7-2 record, but after four-straight losses - three of which came to unranked opponents - it appears the powers that be were ready to move on from Alford as the team's head coach.

Alford led the Bruins to four NCAA Tournament appearances in his six years as the team's head coach. UCLA made the Sweet 16 three times and made a Final Four appearance in 2017-18.

Stay tuned for an official announcement from the school.
