The three players just spoke to the media.
UCLA freshmen Cody Riley, Jalen Hill and LiAngelo Ball took the stage moments ago to address their recent shoplifting scandal in China. The trio admitted their transgressions, and AD Dan Guerrero confirmed they stole from three stores.
While the three players were being held over in China, President Donald Trump reportedly intervened by reaching out to Chinese president Xi Jinping to resolve the situation. Earlier today, Trump made headlines when he tweeted that he wanted the three UCLA players to publicly thank him for helping.
All three players did in fact thank Trump in their individual statements.
Whether they would have thanked Trump if he hadn't tweeted about it beforehand is up for debate. I'd guess they would have.
What we don't have to guess about is the punishment for Riley, Hill and Ball. All three are suspended indefinitely.
