Much of the 2019 recruiting class is already locked in, after the opening of the early signing period on Wednesday. Five-star Bru McCoy is the No. 2 available recruit in the country.

McCoy is listed as the No. 1 'athlete' in the country, and the No. 7 overall recruit. He's expected to play wide receiver at the college level.

Bru McCoy will announce his commitment on January 5 at the U.S. Army All-American Game.

Schools like Oklahoma and UCLA have been involved for the Mater Dei star, but as of now it seems like a two-team race over the next 15 days.

As 247's crystal ball indicates, Texas and USC are the two real contenders for McCoy, but most consider him a Trojan lean.

Of the 25 recruiting analysts that have logged predictions, 84-percent have him ending up with the Trojans.

That would be a much-needed recruiting win for Clay Helton and his revamped staff. After yesterday's action, USC's class is ranked fourth in the Pac-12 and 21st overall. McCoy would be the only five-star in the class, as of today.

Texas has had a much stronger recruiting cycle. Tom Herman's 2019 Longhorns class is ranked 9th in the country right now.
