Jaylin Davies – one of the top cornerback prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle – has cut his list of schools to seven.
The 6-foot, 165-pound corner currently ranks as the No. 11 CB and 111th overall prospect in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports composite score. Davies is one of the most sought-after players in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
The Mater Dei prospect is expected to stay on the West Coast, but several prominent programs out East are still in the mix.
Davies has cut his top schools to seven as Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, USC, Washington, UCLA and Arizona State have made the cut. The four-star announced his top seven schools on Monday, as seen below:

It’s still relatively unclear which school is in the lead for Davies’ recruitment. Though, it’s safe to assume either of the L.A. schools have a major advantage.
Still, several elite Southern California recruits have opted to leave the state for more successful programs elsewhere, as of late. A pair of five-star quarterbacks in the 2020 cycle out of Southern California – Bryce Young and D.J. Uiagalelei – both left the state of California to join Alabama and Clemson, respectively.
If a program like USC hopes to become the prominent it once was, keeping a recruit like Davies in the state is essential.
