Bronny James Has Been Cleared To Return To Play For USC Basketball
Bronny James has officially been cleared for a full return to the USC men's basketball program.
James, a freshman guard, suffered a cardiac arrest during a summer workout and underwent a medical procedure to correct the condition that led to the scary incident.
On Thursday, the James family announced that after a final evaluation with the USC medical staff this week, Bronny will begin practicing next week and hopefully see game action soon.
"The James family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible medical team, the entire USC community, and especially the countless, friends, family and fans for their love and support," a James family spokesman said in a statement.
Earlier this month, LeBron James confirmed his oldest son was on the mend and close to returning to the court.
"Bronny is doing extremely well," James said, via CBS Sports. "He has begun his rehab process to get back on the floor this season with his teammates at USC. (With) the successful surgery that he had, he's on the up-and-up."
Bronny was a five-star prospect and the No. 22 overall recruit in the 2023 class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
USC is off to a 6-2 start this season heading into Saturday's showdown with No. 11 Gonzaga.
