Kedon Slovis looks like USC's next star quarterback. He shredded the Stanford defense in week two en route to a comeback victory. It felt like the program was finally gaining momentum.
But last week versus Utah, Slovis suffered a brutal hit early in the game. The contact caused the USC quarterback to miss the duration of the contest.
Now, according to a report, it appears Slovis will miss this week's game versus Washington.
This is a big loss for the Trojans. Slovis has played beyond his years to start the season. But all is not lost.
In his place, Matt Fink will once again lead the USC offense. Fink was magnificent last week versus Utah, the team who many deemed the Pac-12 favorite. Fink relied upon the Trojans' talent at receiver and it paid off big time. The Utes defense had trouble stopping the air-raid attack.
All-in-all, Fink finished the game with 351 passing yards and three touchdowns. USC beat Utah 30-23.
Fink will need another big game performance on Saturday. The Washington Huskies field one of the best defenses in the Pac-12. UW has a very good secondary. USC's receivers will be tested on Saturday.
Can Fink lead USC to another surprising win?
