Whether or not he knows it, Kliff Kingsbury has actually impacted the recruiting class rankings for the 2019 season. Once he was hired to be the head coach for the Arizona Cardinals, five-star recruit Bru McCoy decided that it'd be best if he left the USC Trojans.

The Texas Longhorns were the winner of the McCoy sweepstakes, as the talented wideout signed his financial aid agreement yesterday - and plans to begin classes in Austin next week.

McCoy needs to be granted a hardship waiver from the NCAA in order to gain eligibility for the upcoming college football season.

Despite his status being unclear for the 2019 season, his latest decision has resulted in a few changes to the recruiting rankings across the nation.

Texas has benefited greatly from the addition of McCoy, as the former No. 5 recruiting class in the country has just leapfrogged multiple teams in 247Sports' team rankings.

Here is the current top five:

  1. Alabama
  2. Georgia
  3. Texas
  4. Texas A&M
  5. Oklahoma

USC has dropped down to No. 18 in the rankings due to the loss of their former five-star recruit, McCoy.

On the other hand, Tom Herman and the Longhorns have to be feeling good about their incoming players for next season.
