LSU Announces Ed Orgeron As New Defensive Line Coach

There may be no better fit between a college football program and high-profile coach than LSU and Louisiana native Ed Orgeron, and for the first time, that match has been made. Les Miles has hired Orgeron as the Tigers' newest defensive line coach. The program confirmed the hire on Twitter today, welcoming "Coach O" home.

Orgeron has not worked since 2013, when he took over as interim head coach at USC after Lane Kiffin's mid-season firing. He posted a 6-2 record with the Trojans, and made a lot of fans in Los Angeles. USC congratulated Orgeron on the new job.

While position coaching hires don't usually get a ton of press, this one does seem like a slam dunk.
