One of Alabama's top commits will take official visits to two other big-time programs, but Nick Saban isn't nervous about losing him at all. Alex Leatherwood, a five-star offensive tackle from Florida who committed to the Crimson Tide over a year ago, will be using two of his five official visits to check out Michigan and USC. When he told Saban his plans, the legendary head coach didn't seem too concerned about losing Leatherwood to Jim Harbaugh or Clay Helton.
“I told coach Saban about my official visits,” Leatherwood said. “He was like, ‘Have fun.’”
That is the response of a man who has had no trouble holding on to his five-star recruits over the years.
Leatherwood is the No. 5 tackle in the nation, and the No. 4 player in Florida.
